SG Cancer Foundation organised a health screening program for members of Kanda Presbyterian Church. The event took place in Accra on the 1st of July, 2016.
This event was to identify individuals with hypertension, pre-hypertension, diabetes mellitus, pre-diabetes, malaria, pallor and skin lesions.
The health screen comprised recording blood pressure and pulse rate, random blood glucose and rapid diagnostic testing for malaria parasites. In addition to this the participants were examined for signs of anaemia and various skin conditions. Professional medical advice was given to each participant. A total of 100 participants were screened. They were mainly young adults with a few middle-aged and elderly ones. There were numerous children as well as 10 women.
